INPP Primitive Reflex Therapy

INPP (The Institue of Neuro-Pysiological Psychology) www.inpp.org.uk was established in 1975 by Dr Peter Blythe. It is a drug free and non invasive treatment which can help children overcome specific learning difficulties, coordination difficulties and behavioural difficulties. It is designed to inhibit the primitive reflexes and mature the postural reflexes. In doing so the child will experience changes in the ease in which they can do things with their bodies that will make formal learning more natural and less frustrating.

Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation

Johansen Individualised Ausitory Stimulation (JIAS) was developed in Denmark by Dr Kjeld Johansen, director of the Baltic Dyslexia Research Laboratory (See www.dyslexia-lab.dk) from the original work of Christian A Volf.

The program involves listening to an individualised CD for 10 minutes a day. CD’s are reviewed every 8 weeks. The CD’s cover a range of different frequencies that stimualte the brain neural pathways. By stimulating them is such an intense and individual way you are giving the child a second chance to develop good auditory processing skills. The aim is to develop the ears so that the child gets as close as possible to the optimum learning curve so as to allow them to hear individual language sounds better. It also helps to reduce their auditory sensitivity and encourages the ears to work together better.

Nutritional Medicine

All Learning difficulties like Autism, ADD or Dyslexia are caused by some degree of gut dysfunction. This is because the brain and the gut communicate to each other with the process of the digestive system giving the brain what it needs to develop and grow. If there is an imbalance of good bacteria and opportunistic organisms in the gut then this can set off many damaging process in the child’s body that will affect development.

This idea of connecting Autism and gut dysfunction was first discovered by Dr Andrew Wakefield in 1998. Dr Wakefield was a consultant gastro enterologist at the Royal Hospital in London where his team published their research suggesting a connection between chronic inflammatory bowel disease and autism (autism being Chronic Developmental Delay). He took samples from autistic children who were referred with gastrointestinal symptoms. As a result of his research Dr Wakefield and his team had identified a condition in the bowel of these children which they named Ileal-Lymphoid Nodular Hyperplasia and Non Specific Colitis. They later called it AUTISTIC ENTERCOLITIS. This is yet to be accepted into official medical vocabulary.

The findings of Dr Andrew Wakefield and his team, who examined hundreds of autistic children, have been independently supported by a number of other researches in the world. Apart from published research there are a number of practicing Doctors around the world whose clinical observations support the fact that autistic children have digestive disorders.

The Brain Tree Program has implemented the work carried out by Dr Michael Sichel from Fountain Dale clinic NSW, (See www.asdkidsdrugfree.com) where he has been using the gut brain connection theory to reverse autism spectrum disorders including ADHD disorders for the past 10 years. The program involves heavy metal testing and chelation, body alkalining and gut repair.
